I was born and raised in Texas and graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelors of Business Administration and Master's of Professional Accounting. After a career as a CPA I attended Baylor University, attaining an MS in Educational Psychology and became licensed as an LPC. I specialize in couples counseling, relationships, anxiety, depression, and trauma.
I care about all my clients. Being a therapist is a passion for me and I am here to help.
Reaching out for counseling is a brave and meaningful step toward caring for yourself, and I’m here to support you in that journey. If you're feeling overwhelmed or stuck and unsure how to move forward, know that there is hope. Together, we can navigate what’s weighing you down and find a way through.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a magazine editor, an English and writing teacher, and an assistant adjunct professor of American literature. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from Mills College, a Master of Arts in English from Portland State University, and a Master of Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin. I am also a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. I have an eclectic style that integrates SE, IPNB, narrative therapy and parts work.
I give you a space to explore, feel, question, cry, scream, cuss, fall apart, and fall together. I like wrestling with whatever it is that is coming up in your heart or mind. I am open minded and care about the burdens you carry around everyday. It's hard work to grow yourself and we can work together to create and achieve your goals. I believe your story matters and holds a lot of power in shaping your life.
I’m so glad you’re here. The world can seem like an overwhelming place and making the choice to get help is an incredibly powerful one. I became a therapist because I care about making a difference and I believe in the resiliency of the human spirit. I will work with you to make therapy into a rewarding journey of profound self-discovery.
I have a genuine passion for working to help others find the tools they need to live a fulfilling and happy life. I think it’s important to work closely with each person to build a safe and supportive environment in therapy so that real and lasting change can occur. Asking for help takes tremendous courage. You're worth it.
