Hello! I'm Alyssa Norbeck and I'm a LCSW in IL. I understand that it can feel vulnerable to begin therapy, but I'm passionate about making therapy a safe space where you feel heard and understood. I received my Master's in Social Work from USC. I've worked with different age groups presenting with a range of clinical issues in both individual and group settings, including private practice, mental health and substance use IOP, crisis management and stabilization, EAP, and in SNF/long term care.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 20 years of professional experience supporting children and families. Throughout my career, I have primarily worked with school-age children and their families, helping them navigate emotional, behavioral, and life challenges with compassion and practical guidance.
I have 15 years of experience working with adults, couples, groups, and first responders. I've worked in a variety of mental health care settings and have extensive experience working with clients dealing with relationship and attachment issues.
I am a compassionate therapist that looks forward to being a small part of a client's journey to healing and self-discovery. My passion for psychology was fueled by gender-based violence like domestic violence and sexual abuse. My specialty is working with trauma, depression, anxiety, and maternal mental health. I strive to understand the unique intersections of each client and how it shapes our experiences.
Eric V. Harwell is a Crisis & Trauma Clinical Mental Health Therapist in private practice with decades of experience helping those who need mental and emotional support services. He helps those that suffer with issues stemming from Depression, Anxiety, and Grief & Loss to those that suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and Bi-Bipolar. He does extensive work with state agencies on behalf of children and families. To his credit he has served as a Child Protection Investigator (DCFS), Behavior Interventionist Specialist, and Family Reunification Counselor. Further, he provides counseling support services for families managing with Foster Care, Post Adoption, Separation, and Divorce needs. Featured in Ebony Magazine on the state of mental health crisis in Black and Brown communities that are suffering from daily traumatic conditions. To support our urban youth, he has provided mentoring services in the Chicago Public Schools. The mentoring program PIES embodies the Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, and Social development of children. He also responds to national crises around the country when catastrophes strike. He is one of the certified Mental Health Leaders with the American Red Cross. He has served in the mass murder on the campus of Northern Illinois University. He also works with many of our Military Veterans as they return from deployment. Harwell always seeks to address the social ills that many people know about, but very few are willing acknowledge and even fewer are willing to deal with. He sees Human Trafficking as a huge problem in the Black and Brown communities, so he generates as much awareness and action around the issue to help to eradicate it for good. Maintaining a powerful presence in the community,
