I am a psychiatrist with years of further training and experience in psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. I treat a wide array of issues, ranging from anxiety, depression, grief, problems in intimate relationships, and chronic dissatisfaction to a general sense of malaise. I also work with patients who are experiencing confusion about their feelings and an inability to make important decisions, and who thereby feel stuck and unable to move forward. In addition, I help patients going through a crisis or a life transition that may lead to an increased burden of demands requiring change.
I work with patients to help them recount and revisit their life's story and create a new narrative that works better for them. In that spirit, I don't give overt advice, instructions, or quick solutions, but instead encourage them to arrive at their own solutions after carefully exploring the roots of their current problems.
I have a judicious approach to prescribing medications when warranted to support the work of therapy.
Attention, impulse control, and trauma-related issues are often misunderstood, stigmatized, and poorly treated. With time and treatment, patients who are affected learn to recognize and compensate for their symptoms. Self-acceptance brings appreciation for their own energy, strengths, and resilience. Many continue to exciting lives of high achievement and satisfaction. It is my privilege to accompany you on this journey.
I am a board-certified psychiatrist and psychotherapist with expertise in medication management, psychoanalysis, CBT and mindfulness-based therapy. I also have expertise in interventional treatments (ECT, TMS, Ketamine & Psychedelic therapy) and work as a clinical professor at Northwell Zucker Hillside Hospital. I work with adults (ages 18 to 65) and have openings in the evening for busy working professionals. I specialize in treating a wide array of conditions: Depression, Anxiety, OCD, Social Anxiety, and Insomnia. At this time, I am only taking patients who are interested in medication management not individual therapy.
